If you're reading this, you're probably aware that determining your bra size isn't as simple as you once thought.
Your bra size has most likely changed over the course of your life, which can be attributed to a variety of factors such as fluctuating weight and having children. Helping other women learn how to calculate their bra sizes is a big part of the fact that we developed this bra size calculator.
In this post, we'll show you how to calculate your bra size in three simple steps so that the next time you go bra shopping, you'll know what to look for when trying to find the best-fitting bra.
There's a lot more to measuring your bra size than just pulling out a measuring tape and writing down a band size. We'll measure your band size first, then your bust size, and finally your cup size in the following three steps.
Determining the correct – and most recent – measurements for your band, bust, and cup will make it so much easier for you to find bras that match right and fit you, regardless of where you buy your bras.
Before measuring your band size, wear a lightly lined or unpadded bra. Using a measuring tape, wrap it snugly around your back, parallel to the ground, and measure directly under your bust. Notice your band size by rounding down to the nearest even number.
Keep the measuring tape snugly against you and parallel to the ground by wrapping it around your back at band level and measure around the fullest portion of your chest. Take a few deep breaths and allow the tape to settle into its most comfortable position. If it falls on the half-inch mark, simply round up. That is your bust measurement!
Determining cup size can be difficult because cup sizes differ depending on the manufacturer. The most popular method for determining your cup size is to subtract your band size from your bust size and use the difference to determine your cup size using a bra size chart.
Bust Size – Band Size = Cup Size
